The film, based on Mirza Muhammad Hadi Ruswas novel, tells you the tale of Umrao Jaan Ada, a royal courtesan in 19th century Lucknow. The film is visually rich and the performances are by and large excellent. Aishwarya Rai, around whom the movie revolves, has lived up to the expectations with her amazing looks and wonderful acting.
